Janet Hurst
Assistant Treasurer
Janet has served at MPC since June
2014 where she began as the receptionist. She genuinely enjoyed building
relationships with members of the congregation and everyone who visited
the church. In 2017, she advanced to the Assistant Treasurer position
where she combines her love of working with numbers with her social
nature. Previously, Janet was the assistant to the national sales
manager at CTB/McGraw Hill.
Janet has always been drawn to community involvement. As a child and
through her teen years, she enjoyed participating in softball and
cheerleading, as well as, coaching. Over time, her involvement evolved
to focus on the spiritual community. Prior to moving to McDonough, Janet
was called to work in the food pantry at First Baptist Church of Forest
Park. With the help of other church members, she grew the program into
an expanded food and clothing ministry that served many of the homeless
and disadvantaged in that area while sharing the Word over hot meals.
Janet married her husband, Marty, right out of high school, and they have a daughter, Alea, who is a very talented artist.
Her loves include the ocean, music, and spending time with her family and two dogs.
